Requirements
- Proficiency in cloud architecture design, including networking, scalability, and security of cloud-based solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Preferably Azure.
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and tools such as containerization, Kubernetes, and serverless computing.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure including virtualization, storage, networking, and load balancing.
- Understanding of cloud security best practices including encryption, micro segmentation, and least privilege.
- Familiarity with cloud management and Infrastructure/Configuration as code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops methodologies and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Awareness of Microservice and Service Oriented Architecture patterns.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Experience with cloud observability toolsets.
- Understanding of version control systems (Git) and their integration into CI tools (Gitlab CI).
- Basic understanding of Linux administration and programming (Java, Python, C#).
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM) solutions (Azure Entra , AWS IAM, Keycloak).
- Experience Requirement: 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience.
- A degree in one of the following fields of study is highly desired:
Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or Data Science.

Active Secret (TS/SCI preferred). - Active Certification Requirements
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert

The Cloud Architect on this team will play a critical role in enabling our customer to modernize, secure, and optimize their technology environments through the effective design and management of cloud infrastructure. They are responsible for shaping and maintaining cloud architectures that support scalability, agility, performance, security, compliance, interoperability, and seamless integration across mission-critical systems. Leveraging deep expertise in cloud technologies and best practices, this Cloud Architect will develop innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance service delivery, and support evolving organizational needs.
In this role, the Cloud Architect analyzes the technical and operational requirements of agency applications and services to design a robust cloud foundation capable of reliably hosting and supporting those capabilities. The position requires close collaboration with Cloud Engineers, Cloud Security professionals, and other stakeholders to define and implement cloud infrastructure, networking architectures, and deployment strategies that align with federal standards and mission objectives.
By providing technical leadership and architectural guidance, the Cloud Architect ensures cloud environments are resilient, secure, cost-effective, and positioned to support both current operations and future growth.
* This position requires full-time, on-site attendance Monday through Friday in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
