Job Description:
Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator II with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission‑critical programs in Linthicum, Maryland
. In this role, you will administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server and MariaDB databases across both on‑premises and cloud environments while supporting secure, high‑performing enterprise database systems.
Working alongside a collaborative database administration team, you will create, maintain, patch, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise database environments supporting mission‑critical operations. You'll leverage your technical expertise to improve database performance, automate routine processes, and support highly available database solutions while contributing to the continued growth and maturity of database administration practices.
As a Database Administrator II, you'll have the opportunity to work with modern database technologies, AWS cloud services, and automation tools while supporting secure enterprise systems critical to national security missions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server and MariaDB databases across multiple network architectures.
- Support enterprise database environments hosted within both on‑premises data centers and AWS cloud environments.
- Monitor database performance and implement index management and performance optimization strategies.
- Troubleshoot database instances, application connectivity, and performance‑related issues.
- Support database backup and recovery operations to ensure data availability and system resilience.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to support mission objectives and database operations.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive database administration tasks through scripting and process improvements.
- Contribute to the continued growth and maturity of database administration processes and operational best practices.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- Ten (10) years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, four (4) additional years of Database Administrator experience may be substituted.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, and/or Oracle databases.
- Experience with database index management and performance tuning.
- Experience troubleshooting database instances and application‑related issues.
- Experience supporting database backup and recovery processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams in support of a common mission.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements.
- Accepted certifications include:
CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP

Skills:
- Knowledge of AWS services, specifically Amazon RDS.
- Experience developing Power Shell or Python scripts to automate repetitive database administration tasks.
- Experience with Commvault backup solutions.
- Knowledge of SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
- Knowledge of Windows Event Log filtering.
- Experience configuring and managing Windows Task Scheduler.
- Experience supporting SharePoint implementations.
