IT Support, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations
Job Overview
At Wyetech, you’ll be at the center of an award‑winning corporate culture, breaking technological barriers and solving real‑world problems for our federal government customers. We design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses, manage their implementation, and develop capabilities to shift from the current manual system security evaluation and authorization process to a new model that emphasizes automation, streamlined processes, continuous monitoring, and network data gathering across the entire life cycle of a project.
This is a blended junior position supporting NiFi engineering, customer onboarding, health and status monitoring, and operational coordination.
Design and support software tools, subsystems, and applications using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and Computer‑Aided Software Engineering tools. Estimate development costs and schedules, review existing programs, and optimize performance. Formulate specifications for new applications, modify and maintain existing applications, and conduct program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Direct and check the work of other task personnel and conduct quality assurance reviews of existing and new software products.
- Support the NiFi team by learning Apache NiFi concepts, monitoring dataflows, reviewing processor status, checking queues, identifying errors, and assisting with basic troubleshooting.
- Serve as a focal point for health and status flows by tracking dataflow availability, monitoring system status, identifying failed or degraded flows, and escalating issues to the appropriate technical teams.
- Assist with onboarding new customer systems by tracking requirements, data sources, connection details, action items, blockers, schedules, and completion milestones.
- Coordinate with customers and internal teams to gather onboarding information, provide status updates, document progress, and follow up on open items through completion.
- Maintain organized onboarding trackers, status reports, documentation, and runbooks to ensure leadership, customers, and technical teams have clear visibility into progress.
- Support basic dataflow validation by confirming that customer data is being received, processed, routed, and delivered as expected.
- United States Citizenship and appropriate security clearance (e.g., Active TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph).
- All experience and education must be in a technical field directly related to the labor category. Accredited institutions only.
- Minimum experience and education levels:
Ten (10) years + High School Diploma/GED;
Eight (8) years + Associate’s Degree;
Six (6) years + Bachelor’s Degree;
Four (4) years + Master’s Degree;
Two (2) years + Doctorate’s Degree.
- Basic understanding of Apache NiFi or willingness to learn NiFi dataflows, processors, queues, controller services, bulletins, and flow monitoring.
- Strong organization and communication skills for tracking multiple customers, requirements, action items, blockers, and milestones.
- Experience or familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, Cloud Watch, NiFi dashboards, or similar operational status tools.
- Basic Linux familiarity, strong technical aptitude, and willingness to learn application support, data engineering, cloud operations, and production troubleshooting.
- Prior exposure to Apache NiFi, Cribl, Kafka, Logstash, or similar dataflow/pipeline tools.
- Experience supporting customer onboarding, system integration, ticket tracking, help desk, or production support operations.
- Familiarity with AWS, EC2, S3, SQS, Cloud Watch, Python, Bash, Groovy, or similar technical tools.
- 20% employer contribution to a Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) IRA, fully vested from day one.
- Generous PTO plan of up to 200 hours annually, adjustable each calendar year.
- Voluntary benefit plans: medical plans (some with Health Savings Account), vision, dental, life and AD&D, short and long‑term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, critical illness insurance, optional identity theft and legal protection services.
