About

The Role

As a Field Sales Representative, you’ll be responsible for representing Verdant and its brands in Maryland. You will develop and maintain relationships with dispensaries through regular in-person visits and remote check-ins to understand the individual needs of each store, gather feedback, monitor inventory levels of our products, inform about new products and order availability, and obtain sales orders. You will also be responsible for ensuring that marketing assets are delivered and displayed effectively at each store to promote brand awareness.

The Field Sales Representative is also responsible for arranging promotional campaigns, educating dispensary staff, and scheduling pop-ups to assist dispensaries with sell-through.

The Field Sales Representative will work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop ongoing sales plans and strategies. The Representative will learn to use our internal systems for tracking various metrics, such as product levels and sales at dispensaries, customer visits, incentive programs, and more. We strive to develop relationships that add value to the business and that are mutually beneficial to our partnering dispensaries and customers.

Core Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with dispensaries. The Field Sales Representative is expected to make regular visits to dispensaries during business hours, and also check-in via electronic communication to ensure they stay connected with all dispensaries regularly. There is flexibility as to how to schedule visits.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding weekly/monthly sales goals and performance metrics.
  • Drive sales by growing existing accounts and developing relationships with key decision makers.
  • Ensure dispensaries receive new menus as they become available.
  • Educate bud tenders and retail staff on product features, benefits, and brand story.
  • Work together with Brand Ambassador, as needed, to schedule pop-ups at dispensaries for promotional campaigns and events, assist with sell-through, speak with customers, obtain product feedback, and build brand awareness.
  • Install merchandising and marketing materials in dispensaries as needed. Ensure product displays, signage, and marketing materials are placed effectively to promote brand awareness.
  • Observe and communicate sales trends, customer feedback and other market intelligence to the Marketing Manager.
  • Participate in industry and community events to build networks and grow sales.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Competences
  • 2+ years of sales, retail, or customer service experience with a proven track record of increasing revenues (cannabis, pharmaceuticals or CPG experience a plus).
  • Must be a people-person who excels at relationship-building.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience and comfortability with using data to drive decision making, as well as using and learning new technology.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle that can be used for frequent travel within Maryland for dispensary visits. Must be comfortable with field-based work.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
