Fire Alarm Inspector

Job Overview

Test and inspect fire alarm systems for existing and new customer bases within Johnson Controls. Perform documentation, safety compliance, and equipment handling duties while managing schedules and ensuring quality service delivery.

• Test and inspect fire alarm equipment according to company standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
• Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
• Carry or move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Work in challenging positions such as on ladders, scaffolds, and high‑lift equipment.
• Be available for alternative shifts, weekends, or overtime to meet customer needs.
• Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner while keeping the work area clean.

• Installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Self‑starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
• Physical ability to perform labor and lift equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work well with others.
• NICET I certification preferred, obtainable within one year of employment.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) and smartphone proficiency.

• Hourly rate: $19.23 – $26.44, based on education, experience, and market data.
