Fire Alarm Service Technician

Role Overview

Johnson Controls is a global leader in building systems. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing installed systems, including fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.

• Receive service calls, diagnose equipment/system malfunctions, and perform repairs.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install fire & life safety systems including Simplex, Grinnell.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, subs, specs, and operational manuals.
• Communicate with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction and obtain signatures.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and mentor others on the service team.
• Propose solutions and upsell opportunities; provide quotes to support recommendations.

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, and security systems.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Working knowledge of computers; ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physical labor up to 50–70 lbs.; ability to work in unusual positions and ladders up to 40 ft.; work flexible hours including weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Preferred NICET II, HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22.00–$33.00.

Hourly rate $22.00–$33.00. Competitive benefits package.
