Job Summary:
.The Sr. Field Service Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, readiness, and performance of all program equipment and fleet assets. This role supports operational continuity by performing preventative maintenance, managing repairs, coordinating certifications, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, this position serves as a lead resource for schedule compliance, field deployments, and technical training of new team members. The role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, enabling program scalability, and delivering quality service across a geographically distributed service area.
Maintenance & Repair
- Manage and maintain FM1 and Vitronic equipment, including certifications, rework, and RMA coordination.
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs to minimize trailer downtime.
- Ensure all equipment is deployment-ready at all times.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
- Work with field service technicians to thoroughly understand equipment issues before arriving on-site.
- Maintain full fleet availability to support all scheduled and unscheduled deployments.
- Lead shift to ensure proper schedule compliance and system deployments.
- Provide coverage in the event of schedule call-offs, reducing risk of missed deployments and LD exposure.
- Improve turnaround time for inspections and repairs, eliminating maintenance bottlenecks.
- Be available to support field deployments and respond to call-outs as needed.
- Transport trailers and vehicles between Western Washington and Eastern Washington shop locations to support operational needs and fleet readiness.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving for parts and RMA equipment.
- Work with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure timely parts availability and service.
- Coordinate and execute transportation of trailers and vehicles between shop locations to support maintenance and deployment.
- Ensure consistent maintenance coverage across all operational locations.
- Train and certify new technicians on maintenance procedures, equipment handling, and best practices.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new field service employees.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentor less experienced team members.
- Maintain required FM1 and equipment certifications; coordinate certification schedules and renewals.
- Stay current on equipment updates and maintenance best practices.
- Maintain certification and compliance records.
- Track RMA lifecycle and equipment rework status.
- Document maintenance and repair history accurately.
- Update vehicle fleet management records and tracking software.
- Operate company vehicles and provide schedule updates using tracking software.
- Collaborate with Lead Technicians, Supervisors, and field teams to ensure equipment availability.
- Support program growth and increasing fleet size while preventing maintenance backlog.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
- Conduct audits and assist with handover of installations and startups of new systems.
- Follow company procedures, safety policies, and conduct role in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience required or relevant education.
- Ability to install equipment, diagnose problems, and perform complex repairs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as tools associated with repair.
- Must have Low Voltage and Inventory Management experience.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to adhere to a tight schedule.
- Must be able to lift at least 100 lbs.
- Proficient in Microsoft products.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with others and work well on a team.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to transport trailers and vehicles between Washington locations.
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years in a related field.
