Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a highly motivated Software Integration and Test Engineer (Level
2) or a Principal Software Integration and Test Engineer (Level
3) to join our highly qualified and diverse Ground Systems Software Integration and Test team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in reading and understanding requirements and software design documentation to create comprehensive integration tests, have experience in testing frameworks, integration test development, and an understanding of modern development pipelines. Familiarity with Kubernetes environments and automated test reporting is highly desirable.
This position will be at our site in Redondo Beach, CA. Other supported locations include Linthicum, MD, Aurora, CO and Morrisville, NC and requires being on‑site only – no remote or hybrid work.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze requirements and software designs to create effective integration test cases
- Perform integration and troubleshooting of software components
- Develop and execute software tests using established testing frameworks
- Collaborate with software developers to enhance test coverage and improve software quality
- Leverage Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing processes
- Generate detailed reports from automated test results within CI/CD pipelines
This position is contingent upon successful capture of program award(s), acquisition and retention of customer or business funding, and holding of final security clearances prior to start date.
Basic Qualifications- Software Integration and Test Engineer (Level
2): 2 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science degree; 0 Years with Masters - Principal Software Integration and Test Engineer (Level
3): 5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science degree; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD - Active SSBI required at the time of application with the ability to obtain SCI prior to start
- Familiar with software life cycle development principles and processes
- Experience in software integration and testing with the ability to translate requirements and design documents into test cases
- Experience with modern Automated Testing Frameworks such as Robot, PyTest, JUnit, or similar
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and pipeline automation
- Experience testing applications in Kubernetes environments
- Experience generating automated test reports through pipelines
- Experience in Agile methodologies
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Experience with Gitlab
- Experience in formal software qualification/requirements verification testing

Primary Level Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $
Secondary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $
