Software Engineer ; API

Prerequisites:
High School diploma plus 1 year of experience in an environment of similar scope and complexity.

As part of the Secure the Enterprise initiative, you will develop capabilities to shift from the current manual system security evaluation and authorization process to a new model that emphasizes automation, streamlined processes and approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data gathering across the entire life cycle of a project.

• Develop, test, deploy, and sustain Python‑based REST endpoints, microservices, and data‑model management capabilities using Django and Flask.
• Interact with data models such as Maria
  
  DB, Mongo
  
  DB, and Postgre
  
  SQL, and send data upon request in JSON format to UI front ends.
• Provide middleware and backend support to all system applications.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Recommend improvements for documentation and software development process standards.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
• Analyze system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers, and investigate problem areas.
• Modify existing software to correct errors and improve performance.

• Proficient in Python.
• Experience using Django or Flask.
• Database experience with Mongo

• AWS, C2S or other cloud experience.
• Docker.
• Visual Studio Code or similar IDE.

Salary varies based on years of experience: $140,000–$144,000. A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including geographic location, federal government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
