Plant Accountant

Addison Group is partnering with an established global manufacturing organization to identify a Plant Accountant to join its growing finance team.

This position plays a key role in the plant finance organization, owning core accounting processes including financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory, and fixed assets. Working cross-functionally with operational leaders, you ll help improve financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making while gaining significant visibility throughout the business.

This position is based in Lisle, IL and offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days per week in the office.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and KPI reporting
• Analyze financial results, variances, and plant performance, providing actionable recommendations
• Manage standard costing, BOMs, labor and overhead rates, and the annual cost roll process
• Perform cost, inventory, and margin analysis to support operational decision-making
• Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliations
• Investigate inventory variances and partner with Operations to implement corrective actions
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal controls while supporting internal and external audits

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing accounting
• ERP experience (SAP and/or One Stream preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to partner cross-functionally with Finance and Operations
• Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 remote)
