Position SummaryThe Account Manager serves as a key relationship manager and trusted advisor for employee benefits clients. Working closely with Producers, Account Executives, Senior Account Managers, and Client Service Representatives, this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day service needs of clients while managing the marketing, renewal, and open enrollment processes. The Account Manager plays a critical role in delivering exceptional client service, ensuring compliance, and developing strategic benefit solutions that align with client objectives.
EssentialFunctions Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a primary point of contact for day-to-day service needs.
- Respond promptly to inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, claims, billing, and policy changes.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support client retention through proactive communication and problem‑solving.
- Collaborate with Producers, Account Executives, Senior Account Managers, and Client Service Representatives to ensure client satisfaction.
- Support the annual marketing and renewal process for employee benefit programs.
- Coordinate carrier RFPs, renewal responses, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare renewal workbooks, reports, and recommendations for client review.
- Participate in strategy discussions to develop benefit solutions aligned with client objectives.
- Prepare client presentations, communications, enrollment materials, and reports.
- Participate in client meetings, both virtual and in‑person, including open enrollment presentations.
- Coordinate carrier and vendor participation as needed.
- Support open enrollment activities and implementation of benefit changes.
- Assist clients with compliance‑related communications, annual notices, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare monthly reporting and analytics for applicable clients.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Partner with internal teams, including Analytics, Technology, Wellness, Benefits Administration, and COBRA, to support client needs.
- Contribute to process improvements and team initiatives.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in employee benefits or group insurance, preferably within an insurance brokerage environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits programs, insurance products, and industry trends.
- Exceptional customer service, relationship management, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Applied Epic preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Professional presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
