We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead procurement initiatives, supplier partnerships, and cost optimization strategies across the organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating supplier agreements, managing key vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence and profitability.
The ideal candidate is a strategic procurement leader with a proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings, launching new supplier programs, and partnering cross-functionally with operations, engineering, finance, and executive leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support business objectives, supply continuity, quality requirements, and cost reduction goals.
- Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and vendor performance programs to maximize value and mitigate risk.
- Identify and implement cost savings opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, value engineering, and category management initiatives.
- Manage key supplier relationships and develop long-term partnerships that support business growth and operational performance.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, product development, and finance teams on new product launches, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze market conditions, commodity trends, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
- Lead RFQ, RFP, and bid evaluation processes while ensuring competitive pricing and service levels.
- Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, driving accountability for quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost objectives.
- Support inventory optimization and working capital initiatives through strategic supplier programs and forecasting collaboration.
- Drive procurement process improvements, standardization efforts, and best practices across the organization.
- Mentor and develop purchasing team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present sourcing strategies, savings initiatives, and supplier performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
- CPSM, CPM, APICS, or related professional certification strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success negotiating multi-million-dollar supplier agreements and delivering significant cost savings.
- Strong expertise in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and category management.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or engineered product environments preferred.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, financial, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, supplier management tools, and Microsoft Excel.
