The RoleThis is an entry to junior level position titled Superintendent I. The person selected for this position will play a critical role in overseeing and managing construction projects that may be ground up, build out, or TI. This person will ensure that all activities align with project specifications, timelines, and budgets. This position requires coordinating with various stakeholders including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to maintain smooth operations on-site.
The Superintendent I is responsible for enforcing safety protocols and quality standards to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential to address challenges promptly and keep the project on track. Ultimately, this role ensures the successful delivery of construction projects that meet or exceed client expectations while optimizing resource utilization.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. - 0-3 years of experience in construction supervision or a related role.
- Proven knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in computer systems relevant to construction management, such as project scheduling software and document control systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- OSHA 10 certification obtained prior to your first day. (We can provide the course for you, if selected for hire)
- Certification such as OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety.
- Experience with advanced construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6).
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing diverse teams on large-scale construction projects.
- Additional training or coursework in project management methodologies.
- Supervise daily construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to facilitate efficient workflow and resolve issues.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and enforce company safety policies on the construction site.
- Review project documentation, including blueprints, contracts, and change orders, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Track project progress and prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage resource allocation including labor, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity.
- Identify potential risks or delays and implement corrective actions to mitigate impact on project timelines.
- Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship and adherence to specifications.
The Superintendent I uses computer and systems knowledge daily to manage project schedules, track progress, and maintain accurate documentation through specialized construction management software. This technical proficiency enables efficient coordination of resources and communication among project stakeholders. The ability to interpret digital blueprints and plans ensures precise execution of construction activities. Familiarity with safety management systems supports the enforcement of compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
