We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced fiber optic interconnect solutions. This role will be instrumental in driving Molex's mission to enable high-speed, high-density optical connectivity for tomorrow's data and communication needs.

What You Will Do- Lead the design and validation of fiber optic components and systems, including connectors and cable assemblies
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, quality, and product management) to develop scalable optical solutions
- Conduct simulations, prototyping, and testing of optical systems to meet performance and reliability standards
- Drive continuous improvement in optical design processes and manufacturing techniques
- Gain and apply comprehensive understanding of fiber optic products, installation, and test methods to all new product development projects
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
- Mechanical design experience in new product development
- Sound experience with parametric solid modeling (NX, Creo, Solid Works)
- Design experience with multiple manufacturing techniques (injection molding, insert molding, sheet‑metal forming, machining, extrusion)
- Desire to learn, be challenged and interact in a cross‑functional team environment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Within a daily commutable distance to Lisle, IL and will not require relocation assistance
For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 - $130,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
