Environmental Engineer, Chemical Engineer
Detail-oriented, reliable, creative team player to lead/assist in process design for new and existing facilities. Analyze, calculate, and design new or revamped process equipment in refinery, chemical, and other industrial applications.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Lead field and technical evaluations of existing process units.
- Direct and perform calculations, develop PFDs and P&IDs, provide design documentation for downstream engineering disciplines, develop equipment specifications, compile scope of work packages for construction.
- Lead client and contractor interface, attend meetings, and provide written reports.
- Provide technical support for field execution, including outage/turnaround projects.
- Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. - Experience:
Minimum 8 years. - Licensure: P.E. preferred.
- Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of P&t, heat and material balances, hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations, relief device sizing, API standards, and ASME codes required. Knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) preferred. - Management:
Experience mentoring and leading small teams required. - Other
Skills:
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced technical knowledge of refinery and chemical process unit operations and licensed technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards; involvement in AIChE or similar local/national chapters and code committees (API, ASME etc.).
- Growth in leading technical teams as a subject matter expert or lead engineer.
- Advance skills in a multi-disciplinary technical and managerial environment.
- Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights.
- May be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding/ladders using the appropriate and required fall protection.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather, steel-toed work boots).
- May be required to position yourself in confined spaces.
- May be required to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
- May be required to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entry.
Pay Range: $110,000 - $150,000 annually. The above pay range represents a general guideline; however, Brindley considers several factors when determining base salary that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, certifications, specific work location, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans in addition to base pay.
