Environmental Scientist

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Environmental Scientist in Lisle, IL. The role offers the opportunity to work with experienced environmental professionals, licensed engineers, architects, surveyors, and GIS/CAD technicians in a fast‑paced, dynamic team environment.

• Perform field investigations to delineate and map wetlands, conduct environmental compliance inspections, describe habitat, and report environmental conditions to design engineers.
• Research and complete environmental permitting at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Compose regulatory documents including SPCC Plans, SWPPP Plans, and BMP Plans.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with project teams, technical staff, and subcontractors.

• BS (MS preferred) in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
• 0‑5 years of environmental experience; field experience preferred.
• Experience collecting GPS data and creating maps in ArcGIS Pro.
• Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, etc.).
• Strong team‑player skills in a multi‑disciplinary environment with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including facilitation and presentation capabilities.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork on short notice.
• Valid driver’s license.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000 (salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity).
