SENIOR MANAGER, TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING
Hybrid role, Lisle, IL
Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000 annually

This role supports a client within the Transportation Engineering industry.
Job Responsibilities- Provide exceptional client service and high‑quality deliverables on time and on budget.
- Communicate regularly with internal staff, external project partners and clients via email, virtual meetings and face‑to‑face interactions to provide status updates and strategic guidance.
- Develop content, oversee design and edit reports about the client’s infrastructure targeted toward a diverse group of stakeholders, including engineers, legislators and the public.
- Partner with client’s engineering teams to develop and review technical content presentations in a digestible format.
- Format criteria and specification manuals and upload them to the client’s website annually.
- Schedule and facilitate technical training sessions that educate internal and external stakeholders on best practices, processes and key engineering innovations.
- Lead outreach for and execute large‑scale events and technical workshops for engineers and industry partners.
- Manage event planning, advance preparation and day‑of‑event execution.
- Measure attendee satisfaction and event impact, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Proactively manage project performance, including budget, timeline and client satisfaction, and address any issues to keep projects on track.
- Attend and manage in‑person client events and functions.
- Maintain high standards for work quality and the overall client experience.
- Thrive in a client‑embedded environment, serving as a primary point of contact.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with agility.
- Be eager to learn from and collaborate with, as well as provide input to, those they work with to create a collaborative environment and continue evolving to best support the team and client.
- Exhibit a high level of professionalism.
- Build trust and instill confidence with clients through actions, words, attitude and outlook.
- Be a solutions‑oriented problem‑solver.
- 5-8 years professional experience in project management or communications for/within the transportation or engineering industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex, technical topics in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to adjust communication style to appropriately meet the needs of a variety of audiences.
- Skilled at working with minimal supervision on high‑profile projects.
- Experienced with budget management and tracking.
- Experienced in supporting project teams while balancing multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Experienced in working with multiple team members, both internal and external, at different levels of seniority.
- Strong familiarity with the transportation industry and its best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering, communications, urban planning or related field.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to client offices and events.
- Must be able to work on‑site in Lisle, IL a minimum of three days per week.
