Your Job
We are looking for an Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) Engineer who will work closely with Product Development team members, developing and maintaining a Quality Plan to manage and mitigate project risk, ensuring a flawless product launch that meets customers’ cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
What You Will Do- Ensure the project Quality Plan for new products and product modifications is focused on the voice of the customer and that all project quality deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
- Facilitate front‑end product / tool / assembly design or process reviews, and design & process FMEA reviews by providing inputs on internal and external quality history, lessons learned, and through active critical‑thinking / questioning. Facilitate and review reliability test plan.
- Facilitate the development of measurement plans / methods and lead the disposition of new products at FOT (First Off Tool) and Qualification. Assist plant AQP in designing gauges & necessary inspection fixtures, Measurement System Analysis, Capability Studies & any required statistical analysis with the goal of Tool / Process Qualification.
- Work with plant AQP or QE to develop Safe Launch plan to protect the customer and reduce COPQ.
- Ensure customer‑required documentation relating to customer acceptance of new products and product modifications is completed.
- Review and approve supplier product‑specific documentation on new and modified purchased components. Work with supplier quality engineer to ensure compliance.
- Lead problem‑solving (8D), analysis, and resolution of new‑product‑related customer complaints or internal quality complaints during launch. Support prevention of repeat issues & systemic improvements to the Product Development Processes to reduce New Product QNs.
- Understand & practice the KOCH 5 dimensions & guiding principles, Lean / Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO), and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Lean / Six Sigma, reliability test plan experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or related engineering field.
- Quality engineering experience in a new‑product introduction environment preferred.
- Experience performing PFMEA/DFMEA and using other Advanced Quality Planning tools.
- Strong organizational skills to anticipate, plan, organize, and self‑monitor workload.
- Good interpersonal skills for effective leadership and team facilitation.
- Solid knowledge & understanding of metrology and GD&T.
- Knowledge of statistics – experience using Minitab or other software.
- Experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Able to travel (domestic or international) 5–20% and ability to travel to Monee, IL facility up to once a week or as needed.
- Working knowledge of electronic assembly, testing, molding, stamping, plating and assembly processes.
- Quality System (ISO 9001) and supplier auditing experience, Gage and fixture design.
For this role, we anticipate paying $75,000 – $100,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
