Job Description
Detail-oriented, reliable, creative team player to lead in process design for new and existing facilities. Analyze, calculate, and design new or revamped process equipment in refinery, chemical, and other industrial applications.
Duties / Responsibilities- Lead field and technical evaluations of existing process units
- Provide technical direction for refinery and chemical process units and licensed technologies
- Direct and perform calculations, develop PFDs and P&IDs, provide design documentation for downstream engineering disciplines, develop equipment specifications, compile scope of work packages for construction
- Lead client and contractor interface, attend meetings, and provide written reports
- Provide technical support for field execution, including outage/turnaround projects
- Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering - Experience:
Minimum 10+ years - Licensure: P.E.
- Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of P&t, heat and material balances, hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations, relief device sizing, API standards, and ASME codes required; strong technical knowledge of refinery and chemical plant unit operations and licensed technologies - Management:
Experience mentoring and leading teams - Other
Skills:
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Advance technical knowledge of refinery and chemical process unit operations and licensed technologies
- Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards; involvement in AIChE or similar local chapters and code committees (API, ASME, etc.)
- Growth in leading technical teams as subject matter expert or lead engineer
- Advance skills in multi-discipline technical and managerial environment
Individual field assignments typically each have their own unique requirements. Prior to deployment on any field assignment, you must be able to meet all client‑specific site requirements. If you are unable or unwilling to meet assignment‑specific requirements, continued employment will be subject to the availability of other assignments.
Requirements may include:
- Physical mobility on ground and at heights
- Picking up, lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs
- Working at heights, climbing ladders and stairways, and occasionally working off platforms, scaffolding, or ladders using the appropriate and required fall protection
- Working in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE, which may include hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, ear plugs, masks or respirators, hi‑vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel‑toed work boots
- Positioning to work in confined spaces
- Adhering to a client’s random drug testing program prior to site entry
- Meeting a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to site entry
$140,000 – $185,000 annually. This is a general guideline; salary is determined by experience, skill set, certifications, location, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonus or other incentive compensation.
