To support this mission, we are seeking a talented, experienced, and passionate Regulatory Certification Engineer to join our team and help drive our continued growth.
The Regulatory Certification Engineer serves as the Certification and Compliance representative on cross-functional program teams implementing new technologies. In this role, you will provide regulatory expertise, identify applicable requirements, and support the development and execution of validation plans. You will review and approve compliance documentation while ensuring that all regulatory obligations are met efficiently and accurately.
This position plays a key role in driving compliance execution across programs and domains-ensuring requirements are properly interpreted, issues are resolved proactively, and deliverables are completed with high quality before escalation to senior leadership.
Beyond program responsibilities, you may act as a subject matter expert in specific regulatory areas, contribute to regulatory planning, support audits, mentor team members, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Own and drive compliance execution for assigned programs
* Identify and interpret applicable regulations for new and emerging technologies
* Ensure end-to-end documentation traceability from requirements through certification
* Resolve conflicts between design, regulatory requirements, and test strategies
* Clarify ambiguous requirements and guide teams toward compliant solutions
* Drive program-level readiness for certification milestones
* Monitor product changes for regulatory impact and ensure documentation is updated accordingly
* Lead issue resolution and escalate risks when appropriate
* Support, mentor, and develop less experienced team members
* Identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
* At least 5 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
* Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
* At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
* PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
Additional Requirements
* Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
* Deep knowledge of North American (U.S., Canada, Mexico) federal regulations for commercial vehicles and their interpretations
* Familiarity with state and provincial commercial vehicle regulations
* Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive problems to closure independently
* Proven ability to identify and resolve cross-functional and cross-regulatory conflicts
* Excellent problem-solving skills with clear articulation of impacts and recommended actions
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to executive leadership
* Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, concise language for non-technical audiences
