Required Skills & Experience
Minimum education:
Bachelor's degree in Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Automation or related Engineering discipline; equivalent controls and commissioning experience may be accepted.
Typically 5+ years in BAS/controls engineering, integration, start-up or commissioning.
Required experience commissioning complex HVAC controls; data center or other mission-critical experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated point-to-point, sequence, alarm, trending and systems-integration testing.
Preferred experience with major BAS platforms, IP-based controls networks, EPMS/DCIM interfaces and digital completions tools.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Controls architecture, DDC logic, instrumentation, network fundamentals and sequence validation.
Ability to read control schematics, points lists, narratives, wiring diagrams and mechanical/electrical documents.
Trend analysis, functional test scripting and systematic troubleshooting.
Understanding of access control, backups and configuration management for operational technology.
Clear coordination and documentation across multiple disciplines.
Job Description
Plans, coordinates, witnesses and documents commissioning of the Building Automation System and its interfaces with mechanical, electrical, life-safety and monitoring platforms. The role verifies that databases, networks, points, graphics, alarms, trends, sequences and integrations are complete, accurate and stable, and that system operation meets approved control narratives and Owner/Tenant requirements. It serves as the commissioning team's controls-integration specialist.
Develop and execute BAS commissioning procedures for network, database, point-to-point, graphics, alarms, trends, sequences and integrations.
Coordinate controls readiness and testing with Mechanical and Electrical Commissioning Engineers, contractors, vendors and operations.
Verify approved sequences of operation under normal, alarm, failure, recovery and seasonal conditions.
Manage controls deficiencies, software/configuration evidence, retesting and final record turnover.
Report BAS and integration readiness, constraints and risks to the Project Commissioning Lead.
