Requirements
Must have- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Over eight years of experience in data engineering, focusing on data platforms, ingestion, management, or analytics.
- At least three years of leadership experience building and managing high-performing teams.
- More than two years of experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including Big Query, Composer, GCS, Data Stream, and Dataflows.
- A proven history of increased responsibilities, beginning as a Data Engineer and progressing to roles with greater complexity and ownership.
- Strong analytical abilities to create and reverse-engineer complex engineering solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain intricate technical concepts to management and stakeholders.
- Experience in defining technology roadmaps, managing gradual execution, and ensuring successful project launches.
- Capacity to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
- Experience in mentoring and developing data engineers.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process enhancements.
- Oversee the design, execution, and enhancement of data pipelines, datasets, and metrics vital for effective business decision-making.
- Cultivate, mentor, and inspire a high-performing data engineering team.
- Develop strategies for data acquisition, collection, and use throughout the organization.
- Set and oversee SLAs for all production datasets and processes.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Analysts, and Data Scientists to create and maintain data-driven systems.
- Establish self-service reporting and democratization layers to empower teams with access to data.
- Debug, code, test, and document solutions to guarantee quality and reliability.
- Assess current procedures to enhance interdepartmental communication, collaboration, and overall process performance.
- Create technology roadmaps and manage the progressive execution to meet both short- and long-term business objectives.
- Act as a key leader within the Data and Analytics organization, promoting a data-driven culture.
- Adhere to company policies and standards while undertaking additional tasks as necessary.
- Be prepared for travel up to 5% when necessary.
