Job Overview
As an Agile Program Manager (APM) you will support, facilitate and guide the software product development efforts of the organization or value stream for which you are responsible. You are the “glue” that ensures close collaboration between Product Management, Engineering and User Experience to deliver high‑value software products and solutions to the market. You also ensure close cross‑functional collaboration with the value stream partners—including Support, Marketing, Operations, Education, Technical Information and Technical Consulting—during product/solution deployment and go‑to‑market activities.
Responsibilities- Agile Planning:
Define the Agile Planning process for your value stream and ensure it is followed. Schedule and facilitate key planning meetings to determine upcoming software product development plans. Typically conducted on a quarterly basis. - Quarterly Agile Planning Executive Reviews:
Organize executive reviews each quarter, providing MSD executive leadership with a summary of execution results, plans for the next quarter, and insights into future initiatives. - Agile Execution:
Track work item progress and completion, ensuring timely delivery of high‑value software products. Schedule and facilitate execution status meetings, hold scrum teams accountable, prepare and share progress reports, and manage risks, changes, dependencies and issues related to milestones. - Continuous Improvement:
Run Agile retrospectives to continually improve Agile project management practices, including planning, execution, time‑saving, efficiency, waste elimination, and metric gathering. - Agile Enablement:
Collaborate with the Agile Coach to promote Agile principles, practices and behaviors; provide coaching at the program level to complement team‑level coaching. - Organization or Value Stream Leadership Support:
Bring the organization or value stream leadership team together regularly to address impediments, form action plans and collaborate on special projects. Work with the “4‑in‑a‑box” leadership team—Product Management Solution Lead, Engineering Director, Lead Architect and User Experience Director—to provide reports, metrics and insights. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Meet monthly with the organization or value stream leadership team and cross‑functional partners (Support, Marketing, Operations, Education, Technical Information, Technical Consulting) to inform them of initiatives and plans, ensuring integration and customer satisfaction. - Product/Solution Deployment and Go‑to‑Market
Activities:
Coordinate activities and checklists required for successful software product or solution deployments and larger go‑to‑market initiatives. Facilitate cross‑functional working group meetings and executive reviews as necessary.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering with 5+ years of related experience, or Master’s in Engineering with 3+ years of related experience.
- Agile Project or Agile Program Management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
- Experience with leadership by influence.
- Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of Broadcom Rally Application Lifecycle Management and Broadcom Clarity Project and Portfolio Management Software (plus).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent preferred.
- Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
- Agile Certification (PMI‑ACP) / Scrum Master (CSM) Certification preferred.
Annual base salary range: $91,000 – $146,000.
Eligible for discretionary annual bonus per plan documents and equity award agreements.
