Onsite End-User Support and Backup Technician – Lisle, IL
Provide on‑site end‑user support for technical incidents and service requests at the client location. Manage issues from initial diagnosis through final resolution, ensuring a superior support experience.
Travel Requirements- Regular travel to East Chicago, IN (approx. 1–2 times per month). Mileage beyond the normal commute is reimbursed.
- Occasional domestic travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
- Deliver dedicated technical support to a designated group of users within a corporate environment.
- Serve as backup resource for the onsite VIP Support Technician in the Lisle office and for the plant operations technician in East Chicago.
- Perform troubleshooting, parts replacement, system upgrades, deployment, and repair on desktops and notebooks.
- Manage shipping, receiving, tracking, and inventory of laptop, desktop, and peripheral equipment.
- Respond to after‑hours calls as instructed by the leader.
- Identify and act on potential issues that could impact end user experience.
- Update and resolve tickets in a timely manner to meet Service Levels.
- Provide secondary/back‑up support for VIPs at the main office when the VIP technician is unavailable.
- 3+ years of relevant IT support experience (remote and onsite).
- Client‑facing experience required.
- Experience working in a Windows operating system environment.
- Physical ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
- Travel to East Chicago, IN at least once a month.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong client service orientation.
- A+ desktop or equivalent certification; additional hardware platform certifications preferred.
- Ability and willingness to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Domestic travel with overnight stay may be required.
- Undergraduate degree or some college coursework preferred.
