Registered Nurse 1:1

The Registered Nurse will work with students with unique medical needs that require a higher level of medical knowledge. The nurse will perform medical procedures not normally provided by the standard educational staff to maintain students in the least restrictive environment. This role includes acting as an active member of the educational team in providing services to students. The nurse will work under the supervision of the Certified School Nurse assigned to the student's program.

Physical demands for this role require the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods, up to 4-6 hours per day.
• Sit for up to 2-4 hours during instruction or meetings.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist students as needed.
• Reach, grasp, and handle materials and classroom equipment.
• Bend or kneel to assist students and retrieve materials.
• Effectively see, hear, and communicate with students and staff.
• Write, type, and use teaching tools and technology.
• Support students with physical needs or disabilities.
• Maintain focus and emotional regulation in dynamic environments.

This role requires the physical ability to meet these demands, with or without reasonable accommodations. Specific experience required includes:

• Administering various types of tube feedings.
• Performing diabetic care, including experience with insulin pumps and Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs).
• Managing tracheostomies, ventilators, and suctioning procedures.
