Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Sales Specialist role based in Palatine, IL. The Sales Specialist will greet and engage customers on the showroom floor, listen to their needs, and guide them through the vehicle selection process. Daily responsibilities include presenting vehicle features and benefits, conducting test drives, explaining pricing and financing options, and preparing necessary sales documents. The role also involves following up with leads, maintaining accurate records in the CRM system, and collaborating with finance and service teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
The Sales Specialist is expected to maintain product knowledge, participate in training, and contribute to a positive, inclusive dealership culture.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of customers and build long-term relationships.
- Proven sales experience and the ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a retail or automotive environment.
- Background in training or coaching is beneficial for sharing best practices and continuously improving sales techniques.
- Experience in sales management or leadership is a plus, including managing pipelines, prioritizing opportunities, and supporting team goals.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, on-site retail setting with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Ability to learn and communicate vehicle features, financing options, and dealership programs clearly and accurately.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and CRM systems for managing customer information and follow-ups.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or automotive sales certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely demonstrate vehicles.
