Data Center Technician responsibilities include in‑depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and participation in an on‑call rotation. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure and supports all data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

• Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, and troubleshoot network issues.
• Respond to operational incidents that impact service availability and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs.
• Serve as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
• Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
• Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.

• Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
• Working in cramped and/or elevated locations.
• Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
• Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.

Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (including nights, weekends, and holidays). This role may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until the designated site becomes fully operational.

Essential requirements include the ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed, willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility becomes operative, and variation in travel frequency based on business needs.

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.

• Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
