Description
This opportunity is for U.S. citizens who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including Reserves, National Guard, and service member spouses. Join our dynamic AWS team as a Data Center Technician, responsible for hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and on‑call operations. The role ensures seamless data center operations that power millions of businesses and services worldwide. Work includes overnight shifts from approximately 6 pm to 8 am, with schedules that may vary by site.

- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, and troubleshoot network issues.
- Respond to operational incidents that impact service availability and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs.
- Serve as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Assist in interviewing, training, and onboarding new team members.
- Lift and move material up to 40 pounds each.
- Work in cramped and/or elevated locations.
- Bend, lift, stretch, and reach as required.
- Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Work shift lengths longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations.
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- 18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
- 18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT-related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering).
- Industry‑standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
- Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems.
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
- Experience training and onboarding of new team members.
- Salary range:
- USA, GA, Covington – 30.00 – 54.00 USD hourly
- USA, GA, Lithia Springs – 30.00 – 54.00 USD hourly
- Lump‑sum relocation stipend for eligible candidates.
