Systems Engineer
Join an innovative, enterprise-level team supporting mission-critical capital projects. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Systems Engineer to lead the deployment, operation, and maintenance of a large-scale transportation inspection vision system. This role contributes to ongoing system enhancements and future initiatives involving advanced camera technologies and automation.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, modify, and implement software applications.
- Install, support, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
- Participate in testing activities, including reviews, analysis, and test witnessing.
- Certify software for quality, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and project objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and system issues.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
This is a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension. The role is hybrid with 30–40% travel to sites across the Eastern U.S. Candidates must reside in the Atlanta area. All travel expenses are covered. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing enterprise team.
Required Skills- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering with coding responsibilities.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong foundation in circuits, sensors, and power distribution.
- Hands-on hardware and field equipment troubleshooting experience.
- Practical coding skills (Python and/or C++ preferred).
- Experience with automation, data acquisition, or embedded systems.
- Understanding of signal integrity and EMI considerations.
- Ability to support hardware bring-up, wiring, testing, and component-level debugging.li>
- Comfortable working both in the field and in code (scopes/meters and utility scripts).
- Military experience.
- Dual Computer/Electrical Engineering background.
- Experience supporting or installing inspection portals.
