Parts Technician
Location: Lithia Springs, Georgia, United States
Department: Maintenance
Schedule: Full time; multiple shifts including nights and weekends may be required
Under routine supervision, this position ensures parts are available to truck and trailer technicians for repairs. It manages inventory stock levels, performs audits, and submits orders to maintain an adequate supply of parts. It maintains information systems and processes core and warranty returns according to company requirements. The role may require working outdoors and during multiple shifts, including overtime.
Key Responsibilities- Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure parts are properly charged to the unit under repair.
- Observe all company safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mentor and train other shop personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, well‑ordered work environment free of trash and hazards.
- Retain and ship parts per the company’s warranty retention and core management procedures.
- Provide administrative support by copying, typing correspondence, maintaining records, and filing.
- Maintain JBHT information systems regarding parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage.
- Ensure each unit has required inventory of equipment to determine usability and replacement of non‑functional equipment.
- Conduct cycle counts and periodic inventories as required.
- Receive inbound shipments of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity is ordered and free of damage; stock inbound parts to proper storage location and update information systems.
- Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 12–18 months of direct experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights or weekends if needed.

- Physical ability to lift above 50 lbs., bend, stoop, push, and pull.

Competitive base salary with potential for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volume. Compensation may be influenced by skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates located outside a 50‑mile radius of the job. This position is not eligible for employment‑based sponsorship. Applicants may be considered for I, II, or Sr. Level Parts Technician based on verified years of experience and position availability. The role may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives pursuant to the company’s bonus and incentive plans.
