Position Summary
The Lead Pre‑K Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a high‑quality preschool program focused on kindergarten readiness. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Pre‑K students, implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and creating a positive classroom environment that supports academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare children for a successful transition to kindergarten.
- Implement and follow curriculum and lesson plans aligned with Georgia Early Learning Standards.
- Create engaging, age‑appropriate learning activities that promote literacy, math, science, and social‑emotional development.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress toward kindergarten readiness goals.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and classroom records.
- Collaborate with administrators and fellow teachers to support program goals.
- Participate in required training, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education, or Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of preschool or Pre‑K teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience with kindergarten readiness instruction.
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning standards.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and state clearances.
- Georgia Pre‑K experience.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Experience with assessment tools and student progress monitoring.
- Classroom leadership.
