Position Summary

The Lead Pre‑K Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a high‑quality preschool program focused on kindergarten readiness. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Pre‑K students, implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and creating a positive classroom environment that supports academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare children for a successful transition to kindergarten.
  • Implement and follow curriculum and lesson plans aligned with Georgia Early Learning Standards.
  • Create engaging, age‑appropriate learning activities that promote literacy, math, science, and social‑emotional development.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress toward kindergarten readiness goals.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and classroom records.
  • Collaborate with administrators and fellow teachers to support program goals.
  • Participate in required training, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and center policies.
Qualifications Required
  • Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education, or Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of preschool or Pre‑K teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with kindergarten readiness instruction.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early learning standards.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and state clearances.
Preferred
  • Georgia Pre‑K experience.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience with assessment tools and student progress monitoring.
