THE ROLE
Trojan Battery is looking for a Material Handler (2nd shift) to join our company. The role involves finding material on shelves, pulling materials off trucks, placing them in their proper storage spots, wrapping products, and preparing them for shipment. The Material Handler must be an effective problem solver, a team player, and able to operate within a safe, ISO 9001‑compliant environment.
DAY‑TO‑DAYACTIVITIES
- Distribute activities conducted in accordance with ISO
9001 while maintaining a safe work environment. - Move materials to or from the production line to facilitate efficient manufacturing.
- Track material movement and inventory changes accurately and precisely.
- Operate machinery and perform minor adjustments or setup.
- Use an RF scanner to maintain accurate inventory transfers from/to warehouse or plant and record the number of units handled during the shift.
- Complete reports or inspection sheets as instructed.
- Stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with FIFO policies and protocols.
- Complete forms related to stock description, quantity, unit of measure, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
- Use hand or power tools such as hammers, cutting saws, nail guns, etc.
- Identify products and attached tags or labels, and mark information on pallets.
- Successfully complete power equipment certification.
- Follow and maintain lean activities and 5S principles.
- Stage multiple orders for shipment according to loading patterns, weight distribution, and shipping methods.
- Coordinate, process, and ship hazardous waste, scrap, and other materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- High School Diploma, GED or greater required.
- Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions.
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
