Overview

Trojan Battery Company is looking for a Production Supervisor to partner with a dynamic and analytical group. The role directs, supervises, organizes, and assigns work while maintaining high quality and productivity in a high‑growth environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead in assigning all production activities for all shifts.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure the facility meets OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assume responsibilities of Emergency Response Coordinator.
  • Ensure product quality, process control, work techniques, and methods meet standards.
  • Apply Six Sigma tools to improve processes and eliminate waste.
  • Use Plex to manage inventory, produce schedules, create orders, report production and receive product.
  • Perform production planning operations utilizing MRP outputs, inputs, and signal reports, pegging planned orders to drive work orders to on‑time completion.
  • Monitor and control budgets for all departments using P.M.C.
  • Set up controls for scrap and evaluate data to reduce scrap.
  • Plan and schedule change‑overs to equipment and review equipment set‑ups.
  • Assign work to Team Leads to ensure a safe environment, high‑quality product, and productivity.
  • Organize all production activities for departments, including assembly line planning and operations.
  • Review production schedules, materials and manpower resources to coordinate personnel for maximum production objectives.
  • Collaborate with Environmental, Quality Control, Maintenance, Engineering, Scheduling, and Manufacturing to implement programs for cost reductions, work simplification, tooling trials, methods, and schedules.
  • Implement safety and environmental devices/equipment, maintain housekeeping, and monitor hazardous conditions.
  • Maintain and train an efficient workforce in accordance with skill requirements and schedules.
  • Attend training and keep abreast of new developments relevant to the position.
  • Manage departmental performance measures and report to production manager.
  • Track daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production metrics/KPIs.
  • Analyze plant floor operations, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct meetings with floor personnel to ensure work delegation and deadline compliance.
  • Implement continuous improvement in health, safety, security, and environmental practices.
  • Resolve issues with support staff such as technicians, engineering, and materials/warehouse teams.
  • Follow quality system procedures and perform other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise multiple direct reports and manage staff through effective team building, goal setting, and motivating.
  • Provide timely feedback and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Plan, organize, and delegate work assignments to meet schedules and optimize manpower and equipment.
  • Manage employee work schedules and labor hours in the time and attendance system.
  • Communicate information to subordinates and train employees.
  • Identify cross‑training needs and resources.
  • Train and develop employees for job advancement and enhancement.
  • Establish a positive work environment that instills good morale.
Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation; battery industry preferred.
  • Associate’s degree required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to resolve disputes and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong multitasking, self‑starter, and team‑building abilities.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement experience.
  • Proficient in ERP and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in an ISO environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interface with internal and external customers.
  • Flexible shift availability.
  • Proficient in English; bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
