Position Overview
Forklift Operator requires an individual with a positive attitude and ability to work independently with minimum direction. The role ensures machine operators have the materials they need to produce world‑class batteries and moves finished product onto and off trucks in the shipping area.
Areas of Focus- Ensure machine operator have required materials always
- Meet suppliers to receive and verify materials meet order quantity
- Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Understand and practice Trojan Battery Quality Policies
- Ensure machine operators have required materials always
- Meet suppliers to receive and verify materials meet order quantity
- Remove scrap and barrels of hazardous recyclable waste to reclamation area and prepare paperwork
- Ensure re‑orders are timely, notify supervisor of shortages
- Move DUF batteries from racks to formation
- Label hazardous waste and move into satellite area
- Ensure labeling and weight restrictions are met Understand and follow work Instructions
- Follow and maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices
- Responsible individual with strong work ethic
- Load and unload batteries, materials and supplies onto and off trucks, in and out of shipping, warehouse, production and assembly areas
- Available for various shifts, and overtime
- High School Diploma, GED, or greater
- Read, write, and speak basic English
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Forklift Driver Certificate
- Understand specifications and labels associated with hazardous material
- Minimum six months’ experience in production, construction, warehouse, or similar work environment
- Some experience in an assembly/ production environment
- Bilingual in Spanish
