Con Paste Pasting Operator is responsible for safely operating the Wirtz Con Paste Machine, including coil loading and unloading, strip threading, paper application and roll changes, operation and setup of the pasting hopper, paste mixing, cutter operation, oven set‑up, end‑of‑shift clean‑up, forklift use and plate‑off bearing. The position also requires routine maintenance and meticulous machine cleanliness.

Produce high‑quality negative plates with 98%+ first‑pass yield while maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping, mixer, machine tooling, cutting operation and overall cleanliness.

• Perform all duties required of the Con Cast Pasting operation safely, with 98%+ first‑pass yield.
• Coil load and unload.
• Coil threading.
• Paper process.
• Hopper operation and setup.
• Paste mixing.
• Forklift operation.
• Oven set‑up and maintenance.
• Off‑bearing plates.
• Maintain housekeeping standards for the area, floors, mixer, mix deck, tooling, ducts, signage, electrical junction boxes, paper storage and other surfaces.
• Use safety supplies and PPE in compliance with safety policies and guidelines.
• Complete required documentation for production, inventory, SPC and administration.
• Complete required computer system inputs, analysis and reports.
• Follow all work instructions and maintain expected output standards.
• Assist in changing any equipment associated with the Con Paste Line, including paste mixer, off‑bearing station, ventilation, etc.
• Efficiently perform all changeovers within the specified timeframe.
• Train other employees as required.
• Operate forklift tasks and sustain a forklift license.

• Current C&D Trojan employee in good standing with less than 2 attendance points and no policy violations in the past 2 years.
• Screened through a panel interview with senior plant leadership; final decision by the panel, tie broken by the Director of Operations.
• If not a current employee, at least 1 year of continuous pasting experience (exceptions may apply if no qualified internal or external candidates).
• General mechanical understanding of how machines work.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and ability to use them for adjustments and minor repairs during normal operation.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as tape measure and calipers.
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to stand for 12 hours per day and lift up to 49 pounds.
