Mixing Operator – Third Shift

Location:

Onsite in Lithonia, GA

Shift &

Hours:

Sunday thru Thursday, 11:00pm – 7:30am

Hiring Hourly Rate: $27.68/hr (plus $0.50 Shift Differential).

Year‑to‑Year Pay Progression: 6 months – $28.20/hr, 12 months – $28.72/hr.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and load mixing equipment.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot production equipment in accordance with GMP, BRC, and Griffith Production System standards.
  • Verify and ensure accurate counts of raw materials needed to produce a blended product.
  • Add raw materials to the blender following the manufacturing sequence on the formula.
  • Discharge blended product from the blender using the prescribed screen size.
  • Follow specified customer sampling requirements of blended product.
  • Fill out daily schedule control to document production, quality, and performance.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work area.
  • Dispose of trash and garbage containers.
  • Support BRC audit requirements, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards.
Qualifications
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently, including comprehension of instructions, memos, and simple correspondence.
  • Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or Red Zone or similar.
  • Work overtime as needed, up to and including Saturday.
  • Stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working with allergens and cleaning chemicals.
  • Must work onsite in Lithonia, GA.
  • At least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.
What will set you apart
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 months of experience and/or training in a USDA‑regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating mixing or blending equipment.
  • Familiarity with food safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Red Zone ERP software.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking within plant and office environments.
  • Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Navigating stairs and ladders safely.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risk, wet/humid conditions, vibration, and high noise levels; hearing protection required in designated areas.
  • Dust and odor present in the work environment.
