Purpose

Perform municipal hydro excavating, sewer cleaning services, and vacuum hose operations safely and efficiently.

Essential Functions
  • Assume total responsibility for the safe operation of all required equipment.
  • Conduct pre‑post trip inspections.
  • Operate wet and dry vacuum trucks.
  • Operate hydraulic pumps.
  • Operate blower equipment.
  • Operate jetter trucks.
  • Load and unload equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Perform manual tasks and assist Operators and Crew Leaders.
  • Perform general maintenance necessary to keep machinery, equipment, and tools operational.
  • Clean vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
  • Execute safety procedures including lock‑out/tag‑out, confined space entry, housekeeping, and company‑specific procedures.
  • Lead team members as needed.
  • Report potential issues or concerns to Industrial Manager/Branch Manager.
  • Work when scheduled and comply with the company attendance policy.
  • Participate in and demonstrate an understanding of safety principles and practices; follow all safety policies and procedures (e.g., safety glasses, earplugs, face shields).
  • Attend all required safety and health training.
  • Observe and practice all safety procedures and policies as per OSHA and company SOPs.
  • Travel as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in other areas such as Shop, Parts, Inventory, and Industrial.

  • Lift 75–100 pounds.
  • Enter confined spaces such as close quarters, crawl spaces, and manholes.

  • Stand and walk throughout the day.
Experience and Education

High school graduate or GED. Minimum two years of experience in a similar position. Must pass a drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check. Position requires a Commercial Driver’s License with a Tanker endorsement or Class A/B.

Work Conditions

Industrial setting, outside environment, exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, possible exposure to hazardous chemicals, extended periods of standing, climbing, and the use of a handheld radio/phone.
