Mathematics Long-Term Substitute Intructor

Job Type: Temporary (Timeframe – September to December 2026)

Linden Hall, the nation's oldest independent boarding and day school for girls, seeks a student-centered Full-Time Mathematics Long-Term Substitute Instructor to join our collaborative faculty team. We're looking for an engaging educator with middle school teaching experience and a genuine passion for mathematics. In this role, you'll teach students across grades 6–10 in both college prep and honors-level courses. The ideal candidate thrives in a close-knit community, values diversity, and is committed to helping students of all academic levels.

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (required)
• PA Teaching Certificate in Mathematics 7–12 (preferred)
• Master's degree (preferred)
• Prior middle school teaching experience (required)
• Previous teaching experience in independent schools (preferred)
  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A collaborative and student-centered mindset
• Teach five classes, including sections of College Prep Math 6, Algebra I, and Algebra 2 (CP/Honors)
• Support and participate in school life activities
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Attend and support student events in the arts, athletics, and community

Perform duties as assigned by the Head of School or other administrators.

• PA Child Abuse (Act 153)
• PA State Police (Act 34)

• Mandated Reporter (Act 126 – Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Act)

This long-term substitute position does not offer full-time benefits such as medical, dental, or retirement.
