Overview

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) within electronics manufacturing, PCB fabrication/assembly, and supplier performance management. This role is responsible for ensuring that all external suppliers meet quality, reliability, and compliance standards required for high‑performance electronic products. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Quality & Performance Management

  • Evaluate, qualify, and monitor suppliers for PCB fabrication, PCB assembly, electronic components, and electromechanical parts.
  • Track and analyze supplier performance metrics (PPM, on‑time delivery, defect trends, audit findings).
  • Lead supplier business reviews and drive corrective action plans to improve quality and delivery performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits (process, product, and system audits) to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal requirements.

Quality Engineering & Compliance

  • Perform and review AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) for PCB assemblies, electronic components, and mechanical parts.
  • Ensure supplier adherence to IPC standards (IPC‑A‑600, IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑6012, etc.).
  • Review supplier PPAP/FAI packages, control plans, and process documentation.
  • Support incoming inspection processes and resolve non‑conformances with suppliers.

Technical Problem Solving

  • Lead root‑cause analysis (5‑Why, Fishbone, 8D) for supplier‑related defects and systemic issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews with PCB and electronics suppliers.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier processes, reduce defects, and strengthen quality controls.
  • Drive implementation of quality improvement initiatives across the supply base.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring supplier readiness and capability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 5‑10 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within electronics, PCB manufacturing, or electronic assemblies.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9102 and experience performing or reviewing First Article Inspections.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC‑A‑600/610/6012).
  • Experience with supplier audits, corrective action management, and quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100 preferred).
  • Proficiency with root‑cause analysis tools (8D, 5‑Why, FMEA).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and PCB documentation.
  • Excellent communication and supplier‑relationship management skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lititz, PA.

Pay And Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $41.34 - $50.00/hr.
