Your Opportunity + ImpactThe Engineer functions as a technical leader and is required to have a Professional Engineer (PE) license and commensurate work experience. This position coordinates overall design activities, project submission schedules, and is responsible for additional QA/QC duties to ensure final products meet technical requirements and client goals.
Key Responsibilities- Perform independent planning and design tasks, review the work of others, prepare construction documents, and successfully deliver projects to completion.
- Work on technically complex projects and apply advanced knowledge to resolve challenges.
- Maintain collaborative inter‑departmental and cross‑functional relationships with project team members.
- Conduct initial QA/QC reviews of project submissions to ensure compliance with client requirements and technical standards.
- Assist senior management in developing schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.
- Work closely with project teams to effectively communicate and deliver the scope of work.
- Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to enhance deliverables and reduce design errors or omissions.
- Perform and verify design calculations, develop technical specifications, and prepare cost estimates.
- Develop and manage design budgets for routine scopes of work.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to engineering associates and interns, helping them develop technical skills, design intuition, and professional growth.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering field from an ABET‑accredited school.
- Minimum of five years of job‑related experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the engineering field.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation/InRoads, and/or hydrologic and hydraulic software packages for site layout, grading, utility, and stormwater management plan design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with commitment to technical excellence and innovation.
