• Oversees and participates in monitoring and meeting the life enrichment needs of Healthcare and Personal Care residents, including participating in Interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings, team meetings, and ensuring appropriate sections of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and/or Resident Assessment and Support Plan are completed timely.
• Consults with Directors in Healthcare and Personal Care and schedules team members for appropriate hours in each area.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the regulations for Healthcare and Personal Care as it relates to programming and documentation.
• Assumes responsibility, either personally or through a designee, to educate all Life Enrichment team members, including new hire orientation, new skill training, and annual trainings.
• Ensures the planning, writing and publication of the monthly Life Enrichment calendars are completed in a timely manner.
• Assigns team members for shared activities and responsibilities, such as bingo, special events, announcing speakers, and monitoring residents for safety both before and after events.
• Coordinates volunteers assigned to the Life Enrichment department for Healthcare and Personal Care activities. Works alongside and directs volunteers assigned to the Life Enrichment department.
• Assists with serving meals as needed, with dining for those residents who are unable to eat independently, and documenting percentages of food and fluid intake with evening meal.
• Views self as part of team and models honoring lives principles.
• Joins with other team members in performing household functions.
• Views the care setting as the resident's home and works to create attributes of home.
• Responds to resident call bells and alarms and supports the residents within their scope of practice.
• Relates well with residents, clients, family members, staff and the community.
• Demonstrates initiative, strong organizational skills, and able to perform duties without close supervision.
• Understands and models the Honoring Lives principles in leadership, relationships and customer service.
• Supervises, motivates, trains, and defines the organization's standards and communicates effectively with staff using team leadership concepts.
• Provides and supports growth and development opportunities for team members.
• Completes One 2 One Conversations with team members in a timely fashion.
• Communicates calmly and gently with residents, family members and staff, exhibiting patience, compassion, understanding and sensitivity.
• Participates in training and development opportunities as offered.
• Demonstrates dependability, competence, accuracy and is observant.
• Adheres to compliance policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident and client rights.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards and applicable policies and procedures.
• Complies with safety and infection control protocols in all aspects of the job.
• Demonstrates understanding of the Code of Conduct and abides by its guidelines in all aspects of the job.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  
  Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED or demonstrated proficiency in reading and writing skills required.
• Has and maintains current certification as a Nursing Assistant or willing to obtain within six months of hire.
• Has obtained the MEPAP (Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals) or is willing to obtain within one year of hire.
