Overview

This is a full-time position at our Lititz Pike Home & Garden Store, requiring day, evening, and weekend availability.

Responsibilities
  • Interview, select, and train new employees in coordination with Human Resources and the Training Division.
  • Communicate with buyers regarding merchandising, new product implementation, and appropriate pricing; follow up promptly with buyer directions.
  • Attend and actively participate at trade shows, vendor visits, and other related events as needed.
  • Communicate with Human Resources regarding open requisitions, needed advertising, and other recruitment issues.
  • Coordinate promotions and special events and oversee setup and execution to ensure event success.
  • Coordinate the activities of the division such as cash management, employee scheduling, ordering of product, and employee training/performance to bring about an efficient and well‑managed division.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repair, and employee training regarding all equipment.
  • Coordinate merchandising of products or services to develop new markets, increase market share, and obtain a competitive position in the industry.
  • Act as a working manager willing to perform all tasks necessary to assure the smooth operation of the division.
  • Oversee department inventory as assigned for accuracy, quality, turnover, and inventory procedures.
  • Perform all duties relating to store security, i.e., lock‑up of store, opening of store, theft prevention, onsite maintenance, and coordination of building repair.
  • Visit competitors to stay aware of the marketplace and our position in it.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work an average of 45–50 hours per week and adjust schedule to workload.
  • Willingness to transfer to any SKH location, as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university; or 1–2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and volume.
