We are seeking a detail-oriented Packaging Technician to support final product preparation and packaging prior to shipment. This role serves as a final manufacturing quality checkpoint and requires strong attention to detail, adherence to process instructions, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
The Packaging Material Handler packages and crates company product to ensure accurate and undamaged delivery to customers.
Position Responsibilities- Ensures products meet specification, ability to read and comprehend work/process instructions, data sheets, photos, prints, diagrams, and standard measurements with high attention to detail.
- Selects proper packaging materials, cuts, and applies material in appropriate dimensions.
- Seals packaging utilizing the correct material and heat sealing equipment.
- Understand general operating methods or procedures concerning cleaning, priming, paint touch-up and re-painting, as well as, serves as final manufacturing quality check before shipping.
- Understand a step-by-step method to install hardware, safety wire and Safe-T-Cables.
- Utilize correct torqueing tools and apply the correct torque technique during assembly.
- Obtain and maintain J-Standard certifications.
- Continuously communicates status of product to group leader or packaging supervisor.
- Utilizes computer to navigate work instructions and company integrated software systems.
- Uses various hand tools and equipment to complete packaging responsibilities.
- Reviews documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Follows Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- May occasionally operate industrial forklift to assist in loading or moving materials and product.
- Works flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
- Obtain and maintain Hazardous Material & Dangerous Goods Certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the value of this organization.

- Production Environment:
Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. - Hours 6:00 -- 3:30, Monday through Thursday;
Friday 6:00-2:30; occasional additional hours as needed - 9/80 work schedule.
