Job Description
Media & Marketing Coordinator – part‑time position (25‑30 hours per week) reporting to the Development Director at North Star. Responsible for engaging the community through digital and written communications, events, and online platforms to support the organization’s mission to restore women from trafficking.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)- Design and execute annual marketing plan (database marketing, email newsletters, social media, advertising)
- Maintain social media presence for North Star and Florissant Collective, creating visuals and messaging aligned with brand guides
- Collaborate with Development Director to develop & track fundraising and engagement goals (donor conversion, audience growth)
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual communication reports with performance analysis and growth opportunities
- Optimize content based on trends and insights, monitor and respond to engagement promptly
- Produce graphic and video design for printed pieces, merchandise, and social media posts
- Manage publication of donor communications, email list growth, campaigns as directed
- Brainstorm new strategies for audience growth
- Create website landing pages and optimize user experience
- Partner with agencies and partners for engaging content consistent with brand guide
- Update and maintain outreach and marketing materials; plan and execute video & photo shoots
- Assist with event planning/execution as delegated by Dev Mark team
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Chief Executive Officer and program needs
- Must Sign North Star Initiative Statement of Faith (Code of Beliefs) and Kingdom Living policy
- Current and active member/regular attendee of a local church
- Ally support North Star Initiative core values and ministry philosophy
- Associate’s degree in communications, marketing, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience managing digital content for a brand or organization
- Experience segmenting communication and tracking SEO and ROI
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
- Experience designing branded designs and videos
- Must be over 21 years of age
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Non‑Profit Management, Communication, or related fields
- Two or more years of experience managing communication, marketing, or related field; proficiency managing campaigns, creating written content
- Proficiency with website and marketing tools (Google Analytics, social media platforms, basic video editing)
- Demonstrated creative communication skills supporting a brand or cause, experience managing communication campaigns
- Understanding of effective, integrated non‑profit fundraising rhythms
- Grant writing and grant reporting experience
- Purposeful relationship with Jesus Christ
- Maturity to engage relationships with kindness and warmth
- Track record of taking initiative and entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
- Excellent networking ability
- Awareness of human trafficking and trauma impact
- Passion for communicating mission impact winsomely to engage community
- Awareness of current online platform trends and opportunities
- Strategic thinking about reaching diverse audiences with mission‑impact messaging
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and ethical storytelling best practices
- Collaborative posture, servant leadership within and outside organization
- Cultural competency, effective communication with diverse backgrounds
- Flexibility in work schedule as required by program needs
Supervised by:
Development Director. Additional assignments as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.
Frequent standing, sitting, hand use, reaching, talking and hearing. Occasionally walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. May lift up to 25 pounds. Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus. Requires driving a motor vehicle and communicating via telephone and e‑mail. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
