The Assistant Director of Advancement at Linden Hall School for Girls is a key member of the Advancement team, supporting the school’s mission through relationship-building, strategic engagement efforts, and dynamic event planning. This role focuses on alumnae relations, parent engagement, special events, and annual giving, helping to grow philanthropic support and strengthen Linden Hall’s community across generations. Working in collaboration with the Director of Advancement, the Assistant Director will plan and implement annual giving campaigns, oversee signature events such as the Annual Fall Fundraiser and Reunion Weekend, and serve as a primary liaison to both alumnae and current parents.
Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
Plan and execute advancement-related events including Annual Fall Fundraiser, Alumnae Reunion Weekend and Donor Stewardship / Cultivation EventsOversee volunteer committees, vendor management, timelines, and logisticsSolicit sponsor ships, auction items, and manage donor recognition for eventsPartner with Marketing & Communications to develop promotional content and ensure brand alignmentCoordinate post-event follow-up, including communications, reporting, and stewardshipParent Engagement
Serve as the main point of contact for parent donors and volunteers within the Advancement OfficePlan and lead parent-focused giving initiatives, including the Parent Giving Campaign and peer-to-peer solicitationsIdentify, recruit, and support Parent Giving Ambassadors, providing materials, training, and ongoing stewardshipDevelop and implement strategies to increase parent involvement in advancement efforts and school lifeCoordinate communications with current families to keep them informed and engagedAlumnae Relations
Serve as the primary liaison for Linden Hall alumnae, building lifelong relationships through personal outreach, digital communications, and targeted engagement strategiesCoordinate alumnae events both on-campus and regionallySupport the Alumnae Association in planning initiatives and increasing alumnae involvement in fundraising and school programsManage alumnae communications including newsletters, class notes, milestone recognitions, and social media outreachMaintain and update alumnae records in the school’s database (Raiser’s Edge NXT)Annual Giving
Assist in developing and executing annual giving strategies that broaden Linden Hall’s donor base and increase participation across constituenciesPersonally manage, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of 25-50 mid-level gift prospectsSupport the creation of appeals via direct mail, email, and digital platformsPartner with volunteers and class agents to promote giving among alumnae, parents, faculty/staff, Trustees, and friendsTrack giving trends and donor data to inform campaign decisions and improve outcomesAssist in preparing compelling grant proposals, stewardship reports and presentation materials to support donor engagement and funding opportunitiesCo-manage the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records to ensure accurate correspondence, gift acknowledgments and donor communicationsConstituent Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with alumnae, parents, donors, and volunteers to foster a culture of philanthropy and connectionRepresent Linden Hall at school and community functions as neededActively participate in the full life of the school—attending events, supporting traditions, and engaging with students and colleagues—to develop a deep understanding of the Linden Hall experience and strengthen community connectionsOther duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in advancement, development, alumni relations, or parent engagement within a school or nonprofit settingExceptional communication, relationship management, and organizational skillsEvent planning and project management experience requiredKnowledge of software including Raiser’s Edge NXT, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office is preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate in a team environmentPassion for education and community buildingWillingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for eventsEqual Employment Opportunity
