UPMC Pinnacle Medical Services is hiring a Full-Time Certified Nurse Midwife to support their UPMC team in Lititz, PA.
Hours: Monday through Sunday shifts. Rotating weekends and holidays. On call required, 12 or 24 hour shifts.
Location: This position will support multiple locations in the Lititz area based on staff needs.

Position DetailsPosition Specifics: Obstetrics and Gynecology. Preferred midwifery experience; preferred women’s health nursing/labor suite experience. Seeing patients in the office for OB and Gyn care, including birth control services. Inpatient call shifts to triage, manage labor and postpartum patients.
Department DetailsLarge OBGYN practice continuing to grow. High demand by patients for CNM care. CNMs have autonomy over their patients and strong shared decision making practice. CNMs are managed by a CNM.

Provides comprehensive primary health care to a select population of essentially healthy women. Participates in the care of women with medical complications in collaboration with obstetricians/gynecologists.
Responsibilities- Perform accurate history and physical examinations on essentially healthy women, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose problems, and manage minor problems and illnesses.
- Provide primary care in an ambulatory setting to women: preconception care, prenatal care, labor and delivery management, postpartum care, normal newborn care, well-woman gynecology, family planning, counseling in health promotion, maintenance and disease prevention.
- Participate in research and continuing education activities.
- Instruct and supervise nursing and medical personnel.
- Follow the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.
- Identify deviations from normal and consults, co-manages or refers as appropriate.
- Provide individualized educational opportunities for students including mentoring, supervision and evaluation.
- Provide individualized client teaching and counseling utilizing the nurse midwifery philosophy.
