Experienced Cabinet Installer

Bomberger’s Store, a family-owned home improvement retailer in Lititz, is seeking a talented Experienced Cabinet Installer to join our team. As part of our team, you will have the chance to work with a highly skilled group of individuals and learn new techniques in cabinet installation. Summary:The position installs cabinets and countertops,and otherhandymantype jobs as scheduled, to satisfy our obligations and commitments to our customers by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Loadstrucks, manually or by forklift, with tools and materials needed for daily jobs.
- Packages items on truckin an effort toprevent damage.
- Drives a box truck to the location of each job.
- Usesa variety of hand and power tools to install cabinetry, countertops, ceiling tiles, stormdoorsand screens per plan design.
- Usesexperience and job knowledge to make decisions and judgements while working throughinstallationprocess.
- Communicates with customers at the work site to answer questions or explain the work process.
- Demonstrates respect for customers and their property by not smoking in any residence, driving intoyardonly if necessary and approved by customer.
- Reports any accidental damage to customer property.
- Keeps warehouse andworkshoporganized and free of obstacles.
- Checksplan design toidentifyany potential installation problems.
Checksmateriallist to ensure all material forjobis ordered. - Makes changes to plan designs, if necessary, after discussions with manager and designer.
- Completes job sheets at the end of each job.
- Review jobsheetand materiallistfor the next day.
- Assistsin the training of co-workers to enable them to be independent as soon as possible.
- Fabricates in-shop materials needed for customers or upcoming jobs.
- Interprets and understands detail involved in technical drawings.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Maintains company vehicles in good runningconditionand appearance.
- Assistsin showroom remodeling work.
Constructs displays for the Cabinet showroom and other divisions of the business. - Fabricates cabinets and countertops in the shop.
- Assistsin the maintenance of the showroom.
- Assists sales peopleas needed, including waiting on customers and taking measurements at job sites.
- Assistin answering phones for the division.
- Coordinates with scheduler andfinalizesthe installation schedule.
- Usesother mechanical skills, as needed, to complete jobs.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, construction drawings, cut sheets,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability towriteroutine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. - Ability to complete company forklift certification training.
- Ability to read a tape measure and work with fractions.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
- Ability tooperatepower hand tools.
- Ability to drive a box truck.
- Mustpossessa valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
