Position Purpose

The Mechanical Integrator I is a hands‑on role designed to build skills in mechanical integration for permanent installations. This position focuses on learning the key competencies required of a Mechanical Integrator, including technical execution, project collaboration, and safe work practices in dynamic installation environments.

Mechanical Integrator I work closely with senior team members on active projects to develop mechanical proficiency, communication skills, and an understanding of how mechanical, staging, rigging, and motion systems come together within permanent installations. As competency grows, so does responsibility—this role is structured to evolve with the individual’s development. Associates begin by supporting scopes under close supervision and grow toward leading portions of projects as they gain experience.

An integrator exists on the uniquely TAIT line between technology and art—bringing creative visions to life through precision, collaboration, and technical execution. This role is ideal for individuals with a basic understanding of mechanical systems and a strong desire to learn and grow within a fast‑paced, project‑driven technical environment.

Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Perform basic mechanical integration and installation tasks under close supervision
  • Support shop testing, system assembly, and field installation with guidance from senior team members
  • Learn tools, techniques, and safety practices through hands‑on experience
  • Assist with the installation and integration of mechanical, staging, rigging, and motion systems
  • Communicate clearly with peers and ask questions to build understanding
  • Participate actively in training and team learning opportunities
  • Begin developing awareness of TAIT’s technical and theatrical fundamentals
  • Learn to coordinate mechanical elements into cohesive permanent installation systems
  • Support troubleshooting and adjustments during installation and testing

    Contribute to internal standards and process improvements through observation and feedback
  • Collaborate with internal teams on project closeout, maintenance, and support activities
  • Participate in knowledge‑sharing and contribute to team learning materials
  • Gain exposure to Fixed (Placemaking/LBE) projects and, as applicable, Portable (Live/Brand Experience) projects
  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures
  • Maintain organization and attention to detail in assigned tasks
Minimum Qualifications

To perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position.

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Formal study or training in a mechanical or technical role
  • Understands the basics of TAIT products, processes, and integration standards
  • Understands the basics of fabrication and troubleshooting skills, including cutting, grinding, aligning, and welding
  • Understands the basics on how to to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Understands the basics of rigging, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in live entertainment environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 99–120 days/year, both domestically and internationally depending on project requirements
