Cool Sys, a leader in sustainable HVACR solutions, is seeking a Senior Electrical Foreman for our Engineering & Maintenance department. In this role, you will lead electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for HVAC wholesale operations, ensuring code compliance, safety, and system reliability. You will coordinate crews, manage schedules, review plans, and collaborate with engineers and project managers. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electricians and technicians performing electrical work on commercial and industrial HVACR-related systems.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily field activities, allocating labor and materials to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and control schematics for power distribution and HVACR-related controls.
- Oversee installation of conduit, wire, panels, breakers, disconnects, and controls for HVACR and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues involving motors, VFDs, control circuits, and building management system interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and local electrical codes and standards on all job sites.
- Conduct safety meetings, enforce lockout/tagout and PPE requirements, and model safe electrical work practices.
- Perform quality inspections and testing of completed electrical installations, documenting results and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and HVACR technicians to coordinate electrical work with mechanical installations.
- Prepare material and labor takeoffs, coordinate with suppliers, and verify that delivered materials meet job specifications.
- Train and mentor junior electricians and technicians, building their technical skills and knowledge of HVACR electrical systems.
- Communicate job progress, challenges, and resource needs to management and customers as required.
Required Skills
- Commercial and industrial electrical installation
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70
- E standards
- Experience with HVACR power and control wiring
- Motor and VFD installation and commissioning
- Conduit bending and wire pulling
- Panel building and terminations
- Use of electrical test instruments (multimeters, megohm meters, etc.)
- Job planning, scheduling, and crew supervision
- Construction site safety and OSHA compliance
- Lockout/tagout procedures
- Coordination with engineering and project management
- Documentation and reporting using digital tools
- Customer communication and field issue resolution
