Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a long-term substitute 7th grade Mathematics teacher at Roseville Area Middle School. This is a 1.0 FTE position starting March 16, 2026, through June 5, 2026. We are seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator to join our middle school mathematics department. This role is a full-time position dedicated to fostering a love for problem-solving and ensuring a strong mathematical foundation for our 7th-grade students.
The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable supporting students as they transition into middle school math concepts and challenging advanced learners in high‑school‑level coursework.
This is a full-time position consisting of five instructional periods:
- 4 Sections of Math 7: Focus on ratios/proportions, number systems, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics/probability.
- 1 Section of Intermediate Algebra: A high‑school‑level credit course for accelerated learners, focusing on quadratic functions, systems of equations, and complex algebraic structures.
- Instructional Excellence: Design and implement engaging, standards‑aligned lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Differentiated Support: Provide targeted interventions for students in Math 7 while maintaining the rigorous pace required for the Intermediate Algebra high school curriculum.
- Assessment & Data: Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress, inform instruction, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Classroom Culture: Establish a safe, inclusive, and collaborative classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking mathematical risks.
- Collaboration: Participate in grade‑level team meetings and vertical math department planning to ensure curriculum alignment across grades 7–12.
- A MN Teaching License in secondary mathematic sis required, preferably 7-12.
- Commitment to an equitable educational experience for all.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
Minimum full year, full time starting salary is $49,171, plus a district contribution towards health and dental insurance.
